The Berkeley chapter of Phi Beta Lambda revolves around two central tenets: the promotion of the skills necessary for success in business leadership and the opportunity to experience the benefits of small club that some feel lacks at a large university such as UC Berkeley. In order to achieve these goals, Berkeley Phi Beta Lambda employs a committee system that is headed by an executive board. Each semester, nine different committees focus on completing various tasks for the education and enrichment of the members of the organization. All committees utilize different talents that have real-life applicability. From fundraising campaigns conducted by the Finance Committee to large-scale presentations hosted by the Historian committee, all members of Berkeley Phi Beta Lambda are exposed to and instilled with critical skills and knowledge that possess value during and after college life.
Berkeley Phi Beta Lambda is affiliated with the national organization Future Business Leaders of America Phi Beta Lambda, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Because of this connection, Berkeley Phi Beta Lambda participates in various national-level and state-level functions hosted by FBLA-PBL, such as the State Business Leadership Conference held every spring. The State Representative on the executive board acts as the liaison between the local and state and national chapters of Phi Beta Lambda. Thus, Berkeley Phi Beta Lambda affords members the opportunity to interact with those not just on the Berkeley campus but also with affiliates at the state and national levels.
Feel free to contact any executive officer with questions you may have, regardless of whether you are part of a university relations team or an interested student. If you would like to contact the executive board collectively, you may send email to Executive officer mailing list.
