Thank you all for coming out to our Second General Meeting! Here's a brief recap: At the end of Spring Break, California PBL will hold the State Business Leadership Conference, held in Pasadena from Friday, March 26 to Sunday, March 28.

The price to attend conference will be $170 for conference registration, a two-night stay at the Sheraton Conference Hotel, and an awards banquet dinner – an enormously great value for everything you're getting. This premier conference is renowned for its competitive events. Under Resources to the right of this post, view the Competitive Events Overview and Competitive Event Study Guides (you must log in to view the latter). These two documents will be very helpful throughout the next few weeks, so make sure to utilize them properly!

To register: click 'Attending' for the Google Calendar event, and proceed with the sign-up process using this form, which includes competitive event sign-ups.

This form lists the maximum number of events for each different category that each member may sign up for. Additionally, as there is a maximum number of members Berkeley PBL can send for each event, we will be holding testing sessions for impacted events to see who best qualifies and gets to represent Berkeley PBL in these events. This will be held on Sunday, March 14 at 7pm in 122 Wheeler.

Take the time to think about what you'd like to compete in, as you may not add or change events, but only drop them after submitting your form. It will be beneficial to sign up for the maximum number events in case you don't qualify for impacted events (or if you decide to drop certain other events) so that you'll still have enough other events to compete in.

Event-Specific Details:

We highly encourage that you form teams with any of your fellow general members, committee members, and officers for Team Events! Please coordinate teams prior to submitting your form, either by personal email or by blog post advertisement.
If you are interested in any Skill Events (Database Design, Computer Applications, Word Processing, Desktop Publishing), please contact me before Tuesday, February 23 at 11:59pm. This is crucial because California PBL's Skill Event request deadline is sooner than the deadline to complete the sign-up form.

The deadline to both complete the form and submit your $170 payment to any executive is by Sunday, February 28 at 11:59pm. Cash in a secured envelope or check made out to Berkeley PBL is accepted. If you would be willing to drive (for both NorCal and SoCal drivers), please contact any executive ASAP in addition to answering on the form.
